In early 2008, I was unhappily retired; I missed people contact. Volunteer activities took up some time – but I wanted something more. From boredom, Busted Ladies Lingerie was born. We considered locating in Red Deer, or Lacombe – but ultimately decided to “stay local. ” We opened on October 12, 2008, in a beautiful historic building located in the heart of uptown Ponoka.
The Bible says that “We are all wonderfully made;” that philosophy was - and still is -applied to our business. Whether you are a woman who is compared to a bean pole, one that society says is “normal,” or a plus sized woman – we strive to provide you with feminine, pretty, supportive, properly fitted undergarments. We tap into brands sourced primarily from European markets, but have gladly added Canadian based brands. Our wide range of sizes and styles covers sizes A to O cups; we carry sleepwear, lounge wear & after hours lingerie from XS to a 4X - as well as various other lines that women are glad to find in Ponoka. Women can also choose something for their man from our varied styles of SAXX garments.
Husband Keith has been my biggest fan. He provides maintenance support, IT support, and every other kind of support that a business woman could require. Additionally, we wouldn’t be where we are without long term (ten years minus 3 days) employee - Diane. Our current staff also includes Sita, Danielle, & Loanna.
We are grateful for our new location, which doubled our retail space since opening; for our great staff - and for our customers - many of whom drive several hours to “Get Busted in Ponoka.” We want to share our anniversary celebration, so invite you to drop in October 15 – 20.
